Do you sell Mambe’ or any Coca products?

it’s illegal in Peru to ship coca products internationally from Peru. However we do sell Mambe’ and other coca products at our shops in Peru Here.

Medicine - Kambo

I want to start working with Kambo, Should I buy Kambo?

Please find a practitioner who has many years experience, and work with them before you buy Kambo, and try to apply yourself or anyone else. Kambo can be a potentially very dangerous medicine if you are not already skilled and trained.

Please remember that working with Ayahuasca, Rape’ or another medicine doesn’t mean you are competent to apply Kambo to yourself or anyone else.

If you would like to work with Kambo I recommend taking training. Or find a practitioner who has many years experience who can help.

Medicine - Rapé

When should I use rapé during Ayahuasca or other medicine ceremonies?

Traditionally during many indigenous Brazilian ceremonies with the Yawanawa, Kaxinawa-Huni Kuin and Katukina, they normally use rapé during Ayahuasca (aka. Uni or Nixi pae) ceremonies.

In our experience, there are several instances – as to why you may like to use rapé during Ayahuasca or other sacred medicines ceremonies:

(1) Several hours before ceremony – to cleanse, purge, release, clear, and re-align your energies in preparation for ceremony. Thus, this will enable Ayahuasca/other medicine to go much deeper with less physical and energetic cleansing or purging required. So, you can focus more on the teachings, and less on purging and vomiting.

(2) If you’re feeling very nauseous for prolonged period of time during ceremony, and the energy is very blocked and stuck for a long time. So, rapé can miraculously assist to move the energy very quickly within seconds/minutes, so you can either release, vomit or go to the bathroom quickly.

(3) If you need bit more medicine, but not quite ready for another full cup of medicine, and you need a small top-up. Rapé can make other medicines stronger and opens it up, so a good dose of rapé can intensify whatever medicine you’re working with.

(4) If you feel the desire to go much deeper and explore further with the medicine you’re already working with.

(5) To cleanse and release after ceremony, if you picked up any negative or heavy energies/entities during ceremony.

We have worked extensively with many Rapés during many different medicine ceremonies – Ayahuasca, San Pedro/Huachuma, Peyote/Hikuri, Tobacco drinking, Mushrooms, Kambo/Sapo, Iboga, Coca, etc. You will notice that different Rapés will work better with different medicines, as they are more of a similar vibrational frequency.

What do most rapés contain?

The basic ingredients of most rapés are jungle tobacco and sacred tree ashes, then many other plants, seeds, leaves, other medicinal tree ashes, and other sacred ingredients can be added too.

We do not disclose the full list of ingredients for all types of rapés.

As some are secret recipes from different indigenous tribes, who do not share this information openly. We respect and honor their ancient traditions, culture and knowledge.

Additionally, we have our secret recipes for our own very special rapés, which are uniquely, lovingly and powerfully made by the Shamanic Snuff team.

What do I do if my nasal passages feel blocked with rapé residue, after prolonged usage?

We would recommend using a Neti pot regularly, which are used in yogic traditions for cleansing the nasal passages with salty warm water regularly. You can search on Google, Ebay or Amazon for one.

What are the best storage containers and conditions for rapé?

We would recommend keeping them stored in small plastic pots or jars with an airtight lid. Small glass pots or vials would be better, but they are more fragile and breakable, and not so easy to transport whilst traveling.

Rapés are very finely powdered snuffs, so they easily absorb moisture from the air. To keep them fresh and moisture-free, please ensure you keep them stored in an airtight container. Also, it’s best to keep them away from humid, damp and wet environments. And, best stored away from direct sunlight.

What are the applicator pipes called? Which side of the pipe do I blow?

In the Brazilian tradition, the self-applicator pipe is called “Kuripe”, and the blow pipe to pass another person is called “Tepi”.

Traditionally, rapé is applied by using a pipe made from bamboo or bone, which is blown through each nostril on both sides. They can be self-administered using a V-shaped self-applicator pipe, which connects the mouth to the nostrils – Kuripe.

Alternatively, the can be administered by another person using a blow pipe, which connects the blower’s mouth to the other person’s nostrils – Tepi.

You always put the shorter end of either pipe in your mouth to blow, and the longer end goes inside the nostril.

Should I spit if I experience lots of phlegm or mucous?

Yes, if you have a lot of phlegm or mucous in the back of your throat, dripping down your throat, or in your mouth, then please spit it out in a bucket immediately, as it’s toxic or negative energy that is being released and expelled. You do not want to swallow it back inside.

Should I keep the rapé in my nostrils or blow it out?

You should try to keep the rapés in your nostrils for as long as comfortably possible, so the medicines can be absorbed through the bloodstream. And, then you can blow your nose with tissue, as many times as it’s necessary for you.

Is it normal to experience vomiting, spitting and bowel movements during/after rapé session?

Yes, it’s very common – most rapés have a very deeply cleansing effect on the body, energetic field, emotions, mental stress, confusion and spiritual alignment. So therefore, you may experience deep purging and releasing on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels. Also, it can be a deep release of long held sickness in the body, psyche, emotional field, and ‘soul loss’.

Please allow your physical and energetic bodies to release, re-align and re-configure. You will need a bucket, toilet tissue, drinking water and toilet nearby.

Also, if it’s been a very strong session, then you may need to lie down and rest for 30 minutes to 1 hour after the rapé session to allow time for integration and deep re-alignment.

If you feel dizzy or ungrounded afterwards, then please drink natural fruit juice or herbal tea with honey (ideally mint or chamomile – no caffeine), and rest. The natural sugars will help to ground you, and the liquid will re-hydrate you, and slowly bring you back into ‘normal’ reality.

Is it important to be well hydrated, before a rapé session?

Yes, it’s very important that you are very well hydrated before rapé session, as your physical and energetic bodies will normally go through a very deep level of detoxing and releasing negative energies. So, the better hydrated you are, then the deeper you can release physical, emotional and mental toxins. Please try to drink at least 100ml-500ml drinking water before your rapé session.

Are there different types of blowing techniques for ‘passing’ rapé?

Yes, there are many different types of animals, birds, snakes, fishes, insect, and elemental spirits that can be can be called upon to ‘pass’ or blow rapé. Each type of blow has a very powerful spirit ally connected which is transmitted with that specific blow, and they have many different purposes – for deep cleansing or purging, healing, re-alignment, divine connection, profound teachings, etc.

However, many of them are very advanced blows that take time to connect with, to master, and to be initiated by the medicine, or by rapé shaman.

The basic blowing technique is called the “Deer” blow. When blowing, remember to take deep breath in, then blow long, then at end of breath hard (pushes medicine further up into your nostrils), and also close your throat at the same time.

When inhaling to then blow, you take-in a breath very deep into your lower stomach area from the source of your power, or “hara” as known in martial arts, and exhale-blow from here with your sacred intention, power, prayers and love. In the Peruvian Shamanic tradition, the use of “Sopla” – to blow and use the sacred breath with power, intention, for cleansing, and passing on spirits is very powerful.

Blowing the second nostril to yourself may be a bit more challenging, but try to do it as quickly as possible to balance out the energies on both sides.

After blowing both nostrils – breathing is very important, so remember to take slow inhales and exhales through your mouth or nose through out, and then deeply surrender…

Are there any rapés that you do not recommend for people with mental health concerns?

Generally, most rapés would be fine. The only ones we would not recommend for people with serious mental health concerns are Visionary, Crystal Vision, Inca Gold, Tornado and Matses Extra.

Is it possible to get addicted to Rapé?

In our very experienced opinion, it’s highly unlikely to get addicted to Rapé, IF ONLY ever using them within sacred ceremony using clear intention for the purpose of healing, cleansing, teachings or profound enquiry. If you maintain a healthy relationship with these powerful plant spirits and master teachers.

People can potentially become addicted to literally anything – shopping, internet, power, fame, sex, exercise, work, food, prescription drugs, recreational drugs, gambling, alcohol, cigarettes, pornography, television, etc.

However, people are not addicted to a drug, medicine, activity, or thing, but to the pleasurable or numbing sensations and feelings it gives them. Also, momentary relief from their psychological, emotional, or spiritual suffering and pain.

We have the deepest compassion for people who are suffering and in pain, so that’s why we lovingly provide people with these sacred medicines, teachings and tools – to help heal and transform themselves in an empowered way.

We are not addiction experts or addiction counselors, so if you feel like you’re suffering from any serious addiction, then please seek specialist help in your local area.

Apparently, many people have implied that Iboga is potentially a very powerful medicine for helping to cure serious addictions. http://www.stephengrayvision.com/2011/05/11/iboga-interview-in-three-parts/

Also, we’d recommend the work & books of Dr Gabor Maté, Canadian MD, who specializes in Addiction. http://drgabormate.com/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScP2tIJJ2BA

In Tarapoto, Peru there’s a retreat center called Takiwasi, which specializes in Addiction with Ayahuasca ceremonies, Plant Diets, and psychotherapy. http://www.takiwasi.com/indexen.html

Please try to create a sacred space in your home for your personal Rapé ceremonies with candle, lamp, altar, or your meditation space. And, always state your intention, respect and gratitude, before applying these medicines.

Also, please always use them with great respect, prayer and deep gratitude because they are very powerful, and sacred medicines, and powerful plant spirits. They are not recreational drugs, or toys to be played with casually.

They are powerful master plant teachers and alive consciousness with whom you can heal and learn from, as well as dialogue. So, if you disrespect and abuse them, then it’s possible to have challenging and negative consequences.

Please ask the medicines themselves, if you’re using the correct amount and how often, depending upon your personal circumstances, healing needs, and specialized work you’re doing. We generally suggest twice daily – once in the morning, and once in the evening, and then see how it goes for your personally as an individual.

These sacred medicines will guide you to what’s best for you personally, and this may dramatically change over time.

In the past, Nina & Ananda have personally worked with Rapé up to 16 times per 1 day, or once per 1 day, and other times only once per month, so it can vary greatly depending upon many circumstances. Always within sacred ceremonial space with proper intention.

Nina previously grew up in London in the UK clubbing scene, and took many recreational drugs in her early 20’s, as a way to escape her reality, pain, suffering, and family issues.

However, also inadvertently exploring the realms of consciousness, alternate dimensions, past lives, shamanistic journeying, and shape-shifting.

Whilst also working in a highly pressurized soul-less corporate job, she was burning the candle at both ends. In order to distract and exhaust herself on every level, as to avoid contemplating her suffering and traumas.

However, during her mid-20’s, she realized that her excessive hedonism, toxic lifestyle and escapism were not the answer. It was a very self-destructive, toxic and drug-infused path with serious health, financial, life implications & negative repercussions.

Ironically, her only 3 addictions were to legal highs – cigarettes, coffee (used to spend $400 per month), and buying shoes (yes, she used to own over 200 pairs of shoes, lol).

Free of all addictions for many years now, she was cured of her cigarette addiction by 1 extremely powerful & very challenging ceremony with pure jungle tobacco drinking ceremony – guided by her partner Ananda. It miraculously healed her abusive and misguided relationship with Master plant teacher & protector – Tobacco immediately.

Cigarettes contains thousands of toxic chemicals, and made with impure intentions, which are mass produced by multi-national corporations.

However, jungle tobacco is pure unadulterated plant power. Sacred Tobacco has been used for thousands of years by indigenous tribes for sacred prayer, deep energetic cleansing, connection to Spirit, opening the heart, speaking your truth, grounding, opening up visions, and protection in the Spirit realm.

So, she embarked on a powerful path of facing her traumas and pain. Initially, working with spiritual & energetic healing, Reiki, powerful Buddhist practices, and Silent meditation retreats.

Ironically, she was briefly a ‘Workshop Junkie’ – addicted to workshops, seminars, self-improvement, and the relentless energy of the Spiritual Seeker. Later, followed by powerful plant initiations from 29 years old onwards – intensive teachings-training, and extensive deep work with numerous master plant teachers.

After many years of holding many sacred medicine ceremonies for thousands of people, she has seen the clear difference with healing “medicine” and recreational “drugs”.

Medicines call you to face and look into the depths of your pain, suffering, problems and traumas, or enquiring into the nature of reality, or profound teachings. Whereas recreational drugs can be a way to escape, and run away from your issues and pain. These different intentions are in 2 diametrically opposite directions.

As always, your Intention and sacred ceremonial space is everything. So, if you’re using a medicine to just get ‘high’ casually at a party or hanging out, then it’s just another form of escapism.

People are not addicted to a drug, medicine, activity, or thing, but to the feeling it gives them, and also momentary relief from their suffering and pain.

It’s your choice and your life, but we always advocate and encourage to work with them in sacred ceremony with wisdom, love, gratitude & respect!

Is it important to have a specific intention or question when using rapé?

Yes, it can be very useful to hold a specific intention, or asking a specific question during each rapé session. They are very powerful teacher plant spirits. Thus, as you develop a relationship and connection with each one, then they will cleanse, heal, teach and guide you personally.

They are very sacred, precious and rare medicines, which should always be treated with respect, love, gratitude, and used within a sacred ceremonial space.

Why are rapés normally blown into the nostrils? Can rapé be smoked?

We assume that they can be smoked, but we do not recommend it. As these sacred rapés are specifically designed to be insufflated – blown through the nose.

Nasal insufflation is commonly used for many psychoactive medicines because it causes a much faster onset than orally, and bio-availability is usually, but not always, higher than orally. This bio-availability occurs due to the quick absorption of molecules into the bloodstream through the soft tissue in the mucous membrane of the sinus cavity and portal circulation bypass.

Additionally, using the sacred power of the breath also allows the power of your intention and breath to be carrier of your power, prayers, intentions, love, compassion, spirits, etc. The Peruvian shamanic tradition emphasizes the power of the breath through the use of “Sopla” – to blow with intention and power for healing, cleansing, and passing on sacred knowledge and spirits.

Furthermore, the act of blowing in vertical motion through the nostrils clears out the third eye chakra, and clears any mental confusion, so it’s very powerful.

Which rapés do not contain any tobacco?

Apurina and Imburana are the only two that we stock, which do not contain any tobacco whatsoever. Generally, the rapés without any tobacco are very gentle in comparison to other stronger types.

When should I use rapé? How often? What dosage?

We generally recommend working with rapé twice per day to begin with – once in the morning and once in the evening. However, this depends on each person’s tolerance levels and also their personal situation. If you are going through a particularly stressful and sick period, you may decide to use it more regularly. For some people several times a week is fine, or only during Ayahuasca or other medicine ceremonies.

For others, they may need to work intensively with these medicines to do some very deep work, purging and intensive healing. Please listen to your body, intuition, and the spirit of these sacred medicines – they will guide you, as to what’s best for you personally.

Traditionally, some indigenous Brazilian tribes use rapé during Ayahuasca (nixi pae) and Kambo ceremonies; in order to assist with moving any stuck energies or blockages, to help with vomiting and bowel movements, and to intensify your journey. Rapé can be applied before, during, or after other medicine ceremonies too.

Generally, we suggest a pea-sized amount of rapé for both nostrils for beginners, and then increasing the dosage after prolonged use of one type of rapé. However, everyone has naturally difference tolerance levels, so some people may require larger doses, and others smaller doses. Please experiment to see what works for you personally. Also, when using the ‘gentler’ rapés like Imburana, Apurina, Matses, and Crystal Clarity, then you can start with larger doses, if preferred.
